Stephen McQueen, Chief Executive Officer
Steve has more than 15 years experience in health care IT and management. Prior to co-founding Galen Healthcare Solutions, he spent 10 years in a variety of roles at Allscripts Healthcare Solutions. In his most recent role at Allscripts, Steve served as a Vice President in the Technical Operations group advising clients on both IT and implementation methodologies. Prior to that, he ran teams with responsibilities ranging from project management, technical project management, and technical infrastructure deployment.
Steve has extensive experience in project management, business development, technical infrastructure, vendor management, and advanced computing and networking concepts. Steve is a graduate of Michigan State University with continuing studies through programs offered by Cisco, Hewlett-Packard, and Microsoft.
Matthew Nice, President
Matthew has more than 10 years of health care experience specializing in EHR implementation and project management. Prior to joining Galen Healthcare Solutions, Matthew served as a Senior Consultant for a prominent health care consulting firm. During his tenure there, Matthew played a lead role in implementing the largest EHR "Go-Live" in the nation's history. This event provided electronic health records to over 1,200 users, spanned 30 locations, and involved more than fourteen years of clinical data. Prior to that effort, Matthew spent 9 years in a variety of roles with Allscripts Healthcare Solutions including Implementation Consultant, Senior Systems Installation, and most recently, Senior Project Manager. During his career at Allscripts, Matthew was involved in many successful implementations ranging from small specialty practices to 450 physician multi-specialty IDNs.
Matthew provides consultative services for all aspects of the EHR implementation process including project management, implementation consulting, vendor selection, organizational communications and marketing, and physician adoption. Matthew recently shared his EHR experience by serving as co-author to The Electronic Physician: Guidelines for Implementing a Paperless Practice by Allscripts Healthcare Solutions . Matthew graduated from the University of Iowa with honors and holds a BBA in Finance.
Jason P. Carmichael, Chief Operating Officer
Jason has more than 6 years experience in EHR deployment. Prior to joining Galen Healthcare Solutions in July of 2006, Jason served as a Senior Consultant for a prominent health care consulting firm where he played a lead role in the largest single day "Go-Live" in Ambulatory EHR history to date. This event provided electronic health records to over 1,200 users, spanning more than thirty physical locations, including access to more than fourteen years of converted clinical data. Before that, Jason spent 5 years in a variety of roles at Allscripts Healthcare Solutions where, among a number of service awards, he was recognized by his peers with the Technical Operations Award, annually given to the company's top technical performer.
Jason provides consultative services for all aspects of the EHR implementation process including project management, implementation and technical consultation, and interface analysis. Jason holds a degree in MIS from the University of Vermont and recently shared his EHR expertise by serving as a co-author to The Electronic Physician: Guidelines for Implementing a Paperless Practice by Allscripts Healthcare Solutions.
Mike Dow, Vice President, Technical Services
Mike has more than 8 years of health care IT experience with a specific focus on the technical aspects of EHR implementation. Prior to joining Galen Healthcare Solutions, Mike distinguished himself in a variety of roles with Allscripts Healthcare Solutions where he was recognized as the 2003 Service Professional of the Year. Mike is considered a leading authority on TouchWorks database modeling, custom report infrastructure, and interface design and implementation.
Mike has provided technical consultation to more than 50 EHR deployments, working with physician groups of varying sizes and complexities, from 10-physician specialty groups, to 400-physician multi-specialty groups, to 2000 physician IPAs. Mike shared his EHR expertise in 2005 by serving as co-author to The Electronic Physician: Guidelines for Implementing a Paperless Practice by Allscripts Healthcare Solutions. Mike graduated from the University of Vermont as a member of the Computer Science Honors Society Upsilon Pi Epsilon and holds degrees in Computer Science and Spanish.
Cary Bresloff, Vice President, Sales and Marketing
Prior to Joining Galen, Cary gained 12 years of Sales and Marketing experience in the Information Security and Technology fields. With responsibilities ranging from Product Manager to National Sales Manager, Cary consistently delivered results for various professional and managed services growth companies. It is this success and breadth of experience that will contribute to the intelligent growth of Galen.
Cary is a graduate of the University of Kansas with a Major in Business and Concentration in Marketing.
Erin Sain, Vice President, Field Services
Erin joined Galen in 2006 as a senior consultant and was instrumental in helping to establish Galen as the market leader for Allscripts Enterprise professional services. As a representative for Galen, she helped lead one of the largest EHR implementations in the country representing over 600 providers. During her time leading the EHR implementation, she helped facilitate a mentor program for Galen helping the company to become the leading provider of Allscripts Enterprise services.
Prior to joining Galen, Erin worked in HCIT for nine years in a variety of roles implementing systems for large IDN’s. In her many roles, her responsibilities included project management, system build, interface testing and training.
Erin holds a BS in Business Administration from Appalachian State University.
Rita Owens RN, Vice President, Clinical Solutions
Rita joined Galen in 2006 as a clinical consultant. She immersed herself in learning v11 while at the same time implementing a very complex specialty client. Her implementation marked a first for the community and Galen: they were one of the first clients to implement every module on v11. As she pioneered her way through v11, she has become one of the country’s foremost experts on Allscripts Enterprise. Her expertise, clinical knowledge and enthusiasm for sharing her knowledge with others has been invaluable to the organization.
Prior to joining Galen, Rita served as the CIO for a Digestive physician group in Georgia and helped lead them into the world of EHR (Allscripts Enterprise v10). Rita also served as a Critical Care nurse for many years before her love of technology brought her to where she is today.
Rita received her B.S. Nursing – Registered Nurse from Armstrong Atlantic State University, Savannah, GA, graduating Magna Cum Laude, where she was also a member of Alpha Eta Society and continues to maintain a current Georgia license. She successfully completed three Hospital sponsored Nursing Residencies: Critical Care Residency, Mother/Baby Residency, and Gastrointestinal/Endoscopy Nursing Residency. During her active nursing career she practiced in CCU, ICU, PCU, Labor/Delivery, Mother/Baby, and Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Units.
