We are seeking a front-end focused Software Engineer to join our team. This mid-level position will involve expanding the functionality of our flagship product and developing our next product. Galen’s Products team enjoys a high retention rate, very competitive compensation, and a flexible work/life balance.

Front-end engineering at Galen uses a flexible, modern architecture using TypeScript with React to build compelling user interfaces and complex functionality. Significant emphasis is placed on engineering test automation through unit, integration, system, and user interface tests. Engineers are empowered and expected to make key decisions in their designs and implementations, supported directly by their leadership.

Galen has offices in Boston, MA, Chicago, IL, and Burlington, VT. The position could use any of these offices or be entirely remote.

Requirements 

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to support cross-organization collaboration.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Information Systems. Equivalent experience is acceptable in lieu of a relevant degree.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience with JavaScript (and HTML/CSS). TypeScript and React experience are highly desirable.
  • 1+ years of experience developing with SQL Server or other relational databases is not required, but highly desirable.
  • Previous healthcare IT experience, particularly working with Protected Health Information, is not required, but highly desirable.

Salary range: $90,000-$105,000 based on experience
